Zhao Qizheng is Honorary Chair of the International Advisory Committee of the Charhar Institute and Founding Editor-In-Chief of Public Diplomacy Quarterly. He is Dean of School of Journalism and Communication of Renmin University of China and Director of the Institute of Binhai Development of Nankai University.
In 1993, he became Vice Mayor of Shanghai. From 1998 to 2005 he was Director of the State Council Information Office. He also served as a Member of Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the CPPCC.
He has published many books, including Riverside Talks: A Friendly Diaglogue Between an Atheist and a Christian (co-authored with Luis Palau, 2006) and A Dialogue Between East and West: the China Model (co-authored with John and Doris Naisbitt, 2010).
He graduated with a degree in nuclear physics from the University of Science and Technology of China.
