Charhar Public Diplomacy series
Han Fangming, Founding President of the Charhar Institute, is also Vice Chairman of Committee of Foreign Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Public Diplomacy Quarterly. Dr. Han Fangming has nearly 20 years of experience in business, government relations, public affairs, risk management and other related fields. Since the 1990s, he has been a trustee of large central State-owned enterprises, multinational companies, commercial banks and financial institutions. Dr. Han Fangming is also a renown scholar of public diplomacy, international relations and Southeast Asian studies. He is the author of textbook, an Opinion Columnist for major international newspapers and magazines, he boasts a wide influence among the international media. He holds a Ph.D. from Peking University and was a visiting scholar at Harvard University.
Published in 2014, City Diplomacy is a collection of case studies prepared for the first “Public local diplomacy-Higher Education Forum” initiative, where practitioners and scholars from over 50 cities assembled and participated in the forum. City Diplomacy provided participants with case studies to discuss, with the goal to evaluate the success of city diplomacy worldwide. This collection aims to enrich China’s city diplomacy practices with targeted thinking and propriate methodology, and in turn, provide case studies for future Chinese practitioners to rely upon.
