The concept of public diplomacy took shape in Europe and America, but slowly spread to the rest of the word. It is a product of cross-field theory development. It includes international relations, diplomacy studies, and communication strategies. This book relied on the western schools of public diplomacy development as its foundation and built a new theoretical function. This book discusses public diplomacy from various aspects, including theory, history, strategy, execution, comparative study and future trend. Introduction to Public Diplomacy can be used as textbook for political science, communication, or diplomatic studies majors as well as be used by practitioners and researches for reference.
After its first publication in 2011, the Introduction has received astonishing approval from the society. Due to high demand, the Charhar Institute decided to print the 2nd edition to meet the need. The 2nd edition corrected several mistakes made in the 1st, added some new cases, and designed some questions in the end of each chapter so the reader can better comprehend the material.
