At the invitation of the DPRK Asia-Pacific Peace Commission and the Overseas Compatriots Assistance Committee, a delegation led by Han Fangming, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and Chairman of the Charhar Institute, visited Pyongyang, capital of the DPRK, from September 25th to 27th, 2019.
Leaders of the DPRK’s United Front Work Department of the Korean Workers Party Central Committee and the Asia-Pacific Peace Commission met with Han Fangming and his delegation. The two sides exchanged views on topics of common concern.
During the visit, the delegation also visited Kim Il-sung University, met with Thae Hyong-chol, President of Kim Il-sung University and DPRK Minister of Higher Education, and held a talk, in which the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on academic exchanges between China and the DPRK, exchange of visits by scholars as well as holding academic forums.

And as a highlight of the visit, the delegation attended a reception for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) held by the Chinese Embassy in the DPRK on the evening of September 26th at the invitation of Li Jinjun, Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK.
Pak Bong Ju, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Korean Workers Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the State Council and the Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Party, attended the reception with nearly 300 people including representatives from both important departments of the DPRK and officials of the Party, the political and military arenas of the DPRK.
