On March 4, Dr. Han Fangming, Chairman of The Charhar Institute, gave a send-off to Nepalese Ambassador to China Leela Mani Paudyal, who will soon conclude his term in China.

Dr. Han firstly thanked Ambassador for his letter of condolences after the coronavirus outbreak. He mentioned that the coronavirus is a huge challenge facing all countries in the world. As China's friendly neighbor, Nepal's support is of great significance. He looks forward that after returning home, his excellency will continue to take the lead in promoting cooperation between all circles in Nepal and the Charhar Institute, creating a platform for exchanges between Chinese and Nepalese think tanks, and working for friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Leela Mani Paudyal said that the epidemic showed a spirit of togetherness, China's prevention and control work are remarkable, and the Nepalese people continued to support China in fighting against the epidemic through many prayer activities. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China. The Nepalese Communist Party also plans to visit China. After the epidemic, he looks forward to maintaining communication with the Charhar Institute, co-organizing related theme activities and continuing the friendship across the Himalayas.

His Excellency Leela Mani Paudyal received an MBA from Tribhuvan University in 1989. From November 2003 to July 2007, he was the Consul General of Nepal in Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. From 2007 to 2012, He worked as Secretary at the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Home and also at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. From 2012 to 2015, he was Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal. He has been serving as Nepal's Ambassador to China since 2016.
