Cheng Xizhong is an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Charhar Institute in Beijing. He is a Senior Consultant of China Shield Consulting Service Co. Ltd. He is a Councilor of Chinese Association for South Asian Studies. Having more than 20 years of overseas experience in diplomacy, security and peacekeeping missions, his research mainly covers international strategic issues and overseas security. He is the author of India’s Defense and Security and Foreign Frontier Force. He once studied in PLA’s Chinese International Relations College, PLA’s Naval Academy of Commanding and National Defense University. He previously served the Embassies of PRC in India, Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He was Assistant Defense Attaché at Embassies of PRC in India and Pakistan, Defense Attaché at Embassy of PRC in Nepal, and UN Chief Military Observer in Democratic Republic of Congo.
