Wu Mei is an Adjunct Fellow at the Charhar Institute in Beijing. She is Associate Professor at the Department of Communication, University of Macao. She is Director of Social Science Research Center on Contemporary China and Programme Coordinator of Master of Social Sciences in Macao Studies. Her research is majorly focusing on online journalism and publishing, news analysis, media technology, communication and societal change. Her previous research majorly focused on development of cable television in China and mass media and environmental movement. She gained BA in English language and literature from Tianjin Foreign Studies University. She received Ph.D. in communication and MA in media studies from Concordia University, Canada. She also holds certificate in journalism from University of Hawaii.
