Lionel P. Fatton is an Adjunct Fellow of the Charhar Institute in Beijing. He is Assistant Professor in Department of International Relations, Webster University Geneva, and Research Collaborator in Research Institute for the History of Global Arms Transfer, Meiji University, Tokyo. He focuses on neoclassical realism school of international relations and security, military affairs and civil-military relations, international and security dynamics in East and Southeast Asia, China-Japan-U.S. relations, and Japan’s defense policy. Lionel Fatton received master's degrees in international relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and Waseda University in Tokyo, and Ph.D. in political science from Sciences Po Paris. He has also been the Foreign Correspondent to the United Nations headquarters in Geneva of the Japanese news agency Kyodo News since 2011.
