Charhar Public Diplomacy series
John Gong is an Adjunct Fellow of the Charhar Institute in Beijing. He is Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor in Department of International Economy and Trade of the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. His fields of interest include microeconomics, industrial organization, antitrust policy, regulatory economics and international trade. He has produced research papers such as Antitrust Fines: Experience From China (with Ran Jing and Fang Yi), etc. He graduated from University of Texas, Austin with a Ph.D. in economics in 1995. He was Executive Editor of Journal of Chinese Economic and Foreign Trade Studies. He now serves as regular columnist for South China Morning Post, Global Times and CGTN.
