Okumoto Kyoko is an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Charhar Institute in Beijing. She is Professor of Department of International Studies and English of Osaka Jogakuin College. She is Chairman of Transcend Japan and member of the Operating Committee of Northeast Asia Regional Peace Institute. Her academic works include Using an Art Form for Mutual Understanding and Reconciliation in East Asia: A Drama Project, ‘Ho’o Pono Pono: Pax Pacifica (2009), Conflict Transformation in North East Asia and the Meaning of ‘Apology’: Examples from Japanese Theatre Experiments (2009) and Japan’s Alternative Diplomacy in Track II (CSOs/NGOs) Through the Perspectives of Achieving ‘Reconciliation’ in North East Asia: Introducing A Drama Project, ‘Ho’o Pono Pono: Pax Pacifica (2009). She received BA and Ph.D in literature from Kobe Jogakuin College, and MA in peace studies from Lancaster University.
