Gao Yuchen is Member of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Charhar Institute in Beijing. From 1985 to 1990, he was the Third Secretary and then Second Secretary of the Embassy of PRC in the Republic of Gabon. From 1990 to 1995, he was the Second Secretary, First Secretary and Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel of MFA. From 1996 to 1998, he was the Counselor of Mission of PRC to European Union and Embassy of PRC to Belgium. From 1998 to 2000, he was the Deputy Consul-General of Consulate-General of PRC in Strasbourg. From 2005 to 2009, he was Ambassador of the Embassy of PRC in the Republic of Mauritius. From 2009 to 2011, he was the Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
