Yao Peisheng is Member of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Charhar Institute in Beijing. From 1990 to 1995, he was Director of Office of Boundary Negotiation, Counselor, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European-Central Asian Affairs of MFA. From 1995 to 2005, he successively held posts of Ambassador of PRC to Kyrghzstan, Latvia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. In 2010, he was appointed Deputy Expo Representative of Chinese Government. He is a Fellow at China International Studies Foundation and Member of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Charhar Institute. He is also a Visiting Fellow at China Center for Contemporary World Studies. He received a BA in Russian language and literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University.
