Tan Youzhi is a Professor and Dean of the Department of Internation Political Economy in School of International Relations, University of International Business and Economics. 

Book Summary

Based on the abundant use of public diplomacy through history, Dr. Tan analyzed Voice of America and the Fulbright Commission as two most influential and effective American public diplomacy strategy. By looking into the effectiveness of American public diplomacy strategy at different period, this book aims to identify how these strategies can change in compliance with the need in different Era to optimize result. The goal is to enhance the understanding of the various schools of thoughts on public diplomacy in the U.S, and provide China with experience of building an equally sophisticated system.
