Singaporean Ambassador to China Stanley Loh Ka Leung visited the Shi Garden, Headquarters of the Charhar Institute in Beijing on September 2nd and Han Fangming, Chairman of the Charhar Institute, met with Ambassador Stanley Loh Ka Leung, together with Members of the National Council (NC) of the Charhar Institute.

Han Fangming, who is also Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, welcomed Ambassador Stanley Loh Ka Leung's visit. Han said that he believed the China-Singapore relations, which have developed by keeping up with the times, can be further deepened with more bilateral cooperation and can achieve greater results in international cooperation and global governance since we are in the right place at the right time and also in harmony with our Singoprean friends.
Han noted we are in the right place at the right time and in harmony with our friends, for both governments of China and Singapore and also the vast majority of people in both countries are supporters of the globalization and free trade. Besides, the geographical proximity and cultural similarities of the two countries also give us more advantages in developing bilateral relations and cooperation.
Ambassador Stanley Loh Ka Leung reviewed the interactions the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Beijing had made with the Charhar Institute in the past years, as well as the friendship he cemented with Chairman Han, which he cherished very much.
Members of the National Council of the Charhar Institute who attended the meeting expressed their willingness in pushing forward the two countries’economic and social development, advancing people’s well-beings and creating a win-win situation through public diplomacy. They would like to write new stories of the friendship between China and Singapore.
Zhou Hucheng, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Charhar Institute, Zhang Zhiming, Fan Yurong, both Vice-Presidents of the NC of the Charhar Institute, Zhang Zequn and Cui Yu, both Members of the Culture and Peace Committee of the Charhar Institute, attended the meeting.
