Charhar Public Diplomacy series
In the afternoon of December 5th, 2019, the Charhar Institute held a seminar at the China-ROK Public Diplomacy Peace Forum in Uijeongbu-Si, the Republic of Korea (ROK).
More than 20 experts and scholars from China and ROK participated in the seminar, including An Ping-lung, Mayor of Uijeongbu-Si, and Zhang Guobin, Vice President of the Council of the Charhar Institute.

Mayor An Ping-lung said at the seminar that the government of Uijeongbu-Si and the Charhar Institute were old friends, visiting each other frequently. And he hoped to hear as many as good suggestions from the participants of the seminar on both the development of China-ROK relations as well as the China-ROK Public Diplomacy Peace Forum.
Mayor An Ping-lung also invited the Chinese guests to visit his office and presented his own works to the them as gifts.

Zhang Guobin, Vice President of the Charhar Institute's Council, said at the seminar that the Charhar Institute has developed very close relations with people from all walks of life of ROK. Specifically, during the period when relations between China and ROK went through a chilling period, the Charhar Institute had made strenuous and persistent efforts by organizing more than ten seminars on China-ROK relations, which contributed to the returning to normal of the bilateral relations.
In addition, the China-ROK Public Diplomacy Peace Forum co-sponsored by the Charhar Institute together with ROK’s Uijeongbu-Si, which has been held in five years, has been established as a branding event.
Zhang added the Charhar Institute also hopes to upgrade the forum to a China-Japan-ROK tripartite public diplomacy peace forum in the future. He thanked all the experts and media friends for their help. He expressed the hope that they can share freely with their insights on China-ROK relations as well as the future development of the forum.

The seminar was moderated by Wang Chong, Senior Fellow at the Charhar Institute. Han Xiandong, Deputy Director of the Korean Peninsula Research Center of the China University of Political Science and Law, made a concluding remark at the seminar. He said it was a happy gathering with so many friends, both old and new, at the event. And the 5th China-ROK Public Diplomacy Forum which was held the day before was very impressive with a diversity of dimensions, especially with the opportunity of having a direct dialogue with key political figures of ROK.
